Hotel Die Port van Cleve

Hotel Die Port van Cleve consists of three special monumental buildings that are connected to each other and therefore all 122 hotel rooms vary in size and layout. Our hotel rooms consist of four different room types: standard, superior, executive and business rooms. All rooms have been designed to provide you with modern comfort in a classing setting with a Dutch historical accent and reference to the Delft Blue tile fresco in our Bar-Bodega 'De Blauwe Parade'. The rooms are similarly decorated, but still remain unique in their own way.

Hotel Die Port van Cleve is ideally located in the city centre of Amsterdam, right behind the Nieuwe Kerk on Dam square and the Royal Palace. You will find the many extraordinary sites that Amsterdam has to offer within only walking distance from the hotel. The hotel can easily be reached by car and public transport. It is within walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station and there is a tram and bus stop just in front of the hotel. The ring road of Amsterdam is only 15 minutes drive away.

In 1996 Hotel Die Port van Cleve was bought by its current owners. It has since then undergone several structural changes, like adding air-conditioning and redecoration of the hotel rooms in 2012. The monumental building of Hotel Die Port van Cleve still has several authentic features. The unique frontage of this historic hotel in Amsterdam has remained unchanged and has obtained a monumental status. As has the unique interior of the Bar-Bodega De Blauwe Parade, with a large Delft Blue tile fresco dating back to 1887.

Two brothers with very conflicting personalities and in spite of that on a similar mission: To conquer the whole world with their passion and love for good food! These contrasts can be find everywhere in this historical dining house. But even more important, the mission of the brothers is still going strong. Restaurant Hulscher’s is all about irresistible grill and seafood dishes, with exclusively fresh and homemade ingredients. Seafood or meat? Like Mrs. Hulscher predicted already more than hundred years ago, at the start of this authentic Amsterdam success story: “The best of both worlds.

”De Blauwe Parade is the best kept secret of Amsterdam. A traditional Amsterdam bar with a fascinating history that goes back all the way to 1870. Back then the Hulscher's brothers bought the property from Gerard Adriaan Heineken, who started his first brewery at this place.
